If we were to paint a picture of the mission of Project Schoolhouse, it would be this photo of Jeyling Mariela from the community of San Antonio, where we worked with the families to build a beautiful, 100 meter bridge in 2016 so children could get to school safely, a school we helped them build. The scope of our work has doubled annually in recent years due in large part to funding from a few key foundations.
The Still Water Foundation has contributed annually for the past three years, providing matching funds to our annual fundraisers and contributing towards the operating expenses that have helped us scale our impact.
The Burdine Johnson Foundation has funded water projects in four communities over recent years, including two of the projects we broke ground on last month. And, we are thrilled to share the news that we have won a Rotary International Global Grant, the largest single grant in the history of Project Schoolhouse which, combined with the Burdine Johnson Foundation funds, will bring water to 450 people in two communities. To the Trustees, Directors and Rotarians who have invested in this life changing work, we are so very grateful.
