When I took a quick spring break trip with my family in 2013 I had no idea the amount of sheer joy that journey would bring into my life.
There is joy from children like Eveling, in this photo, whom I met on that first trip. She is one of hundreds of children benefiting from the clean water systems and elementary schools that Project Schoolhouse helps their villages build. These childrens’ daily lives are released from the drudgery of carrying water and are freed to attend school regularly.
There is joy from seeing how little it takes to fund these community projects and being able to play a part in making these projects go.
There is joy from collaborating with the generous individuals who donate their time and talents to this project; graphics design magic, late night speech writing, music, filmmaking, photography, event planning, grant research, language translation, book drives, web design, database maintenance; all of the work that makes this project a success.
We’ve grown our US team this year. I am taking on the role of Executive Director while Tab focuses on operations in his new role as Director of Nicaraguan Operations. We are thrilled to have Denice Brooks join our team as the Director of Development. It is a blessing to work with such a talented and dedicated team and I can’t wait to see the progress we can make together in 2019!
